4th Falkirk Girls' Brigade

Present day meetings are held in Hallglen Primary School on Thursday nights, with numbers of girls varying from 11 to 35 in the last decade, 20 - 25 being the average in the past few years.

Since our topic this year has been "Animals in the Bible", all our games have had an animal theme to them.

As a company, we try our best to help our church friends as much as possible.  From crepe paper daffodils in spring time, to Christmas cards & Easter cards for the housebound members of our congregation.

For some lucky ex-homeless person who has now been given the chance of a home of their own, we donated a complete `home starter pack`.

Our big fundraiser is our Christmas Fayre in early December, the preparation for which takes almost a year. There are stalls of hand made Christmas goodies and we seem to rise to the challenge of making lots of new things from year to year.  Juice & Christmas munchies are on hand for all to enjoy.

"No more than 20p a week" is the cry for our tuck shop which the girls stick to very well. (Parents can spend as much as they like). Our profit per year is usually between £50 and £60.

The enrolment of our company took place in May 1922, (disbanded in 1979 and re-started again in 1984).
