Some prayer suggestions and reflections for the month of September...

1.Pray for the Kirk session as it meets this evening.
2.Father, I place into your hands, the things that I can’t do.
3.Take a moment to forgive yourself, take time to forgive others, take heart that you can return to
the loving arms of your Father in heaven.
4.Give thanks, with a grateful heart.
5.Still your heart, and pray that peace and love fill the hearts and minds of all.
6.Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. He’s omnipotent, magnificent, all-glorious, victorious.
7.Father, we place into your hands all who come into our building, especially those who are
working to turn around their lives after addiction.
8.As we read this today, we pray for all agencies trying to bring literacy to all around the world.
9.Pray for all those that work in the emergency services, we thank them for their commitment
and pray that they be treated with respect by all.
10.Lord, be with all who are depressed, lonely or despairing and give them your peace and hope for
the future.
11.Jesus, take me as I am, a child of God.
12.Let us rejoice in the wonder and beauty of music and listen to the Last Night of the Proms.
13.Give thanks for the ability and freedom to worship together in love.
14.Let all the world in every corner sing, “My God and King!”
15.Friendship is a blessing. Don’t lose touch; text, ring, write, visit, pray.
16.Make a day of it, come to Wednesday Worship, enjoy lunch in the café and fellowship at the
Guild.
17.Now thank we all our God, with hearts and hands and voices.
18.Pray for those organising the social evening, that all those present may have an enjoyable and
blessed time together.
19.Help one another, and see the best in all around you.
20.Pray for the Jews of Britain who feel persecuted on this the Holy day of Yom Kippur.
21.Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
22.Pray for understanding, and contentment. Put your troubles before the Lord.
23.Give thanks for the changing of the seasons as we reach this Equinox and we head into shorter
days and longer nights.
24.My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.
25.Pray for all in hospital or care homes, their nearest and dearest and the professionals that care
for them.
26.Living God, help us make use of the gifts that you have given us to further your work here on
earth.
27.Pray for those Christened today, that this may mark a new beginning of their life with Christ.
28.Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
29.Remember, all humanity is created in the likeness of God, including you.
30.There’s a wideness in God’s mercy, like the wideness of the sea.
